Echinacea Immune-Boosting Smoothie

Echinacea growing in garden

  • 1 teaspoon Echinacea tincture or 1/2 teaspoon Echinacea powder

  • 1 cup fresh or frozen mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries)

  • 1 banana

  • 1 cup spinach or kale

  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds or flaxseeds

  • 1 cup almond milk or any preferred milk

  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional)

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (optional for added creaminess and protein)

  1. If using fresh berries, wash them thoroughly.

  2. Peel the banana and break it into chunks.

  3. Rinse the spinach or kale.

  4. In a blender, combine the mixed berries, banana, spinach or kale, chia seeds or flaxseeds, and almond milk.

  5. Add the Echinacea tincture or powder.

  6. Blend the mixture on high until smooth and creamy. If the smoothie is too thick, add a bit more almond milk to reach your desired consistency.

  7. Taste the smoothie and add honey or maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter flavor. Blend again to mix.

  8. For extra creaminess and protein, add plain Greek yogurt and blend until well combined.

  9. Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately.

Adjust Flavor: Feel free to adjust the fruits based on your preference or seasonal availability. It is peach season now - and this is a lovely way to enjoy them!

Boost Nutrition: Add a scoop of protein powder or a handful of nuts for an extra nutritional boost.

Frozen Fruit: Using frozen berries or bananas can make the smoothie thicker and more refreshing.

This Echinacea Immune-Boosting Smoothie is a delicious way to incorporate the health benefits of Echinacea into your diet, along with a variety of fruits and greens that provide essential vitamins and antioxidants. Enjoy it as a nutritious breakfast or a refreshing snack!
