Unfortunately, even those of us who are truly looking for a different method of managing our health often fall victim to the “do you have an herb [drug] for…” trap. In this class, we will look at key actions found in herbs – for example, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic (fever reducing), etc. Understanding these different classes of herbs will help you to begin to create your own herbal products safely, as you will understand how they work and how/if they work when you combine them with other herbs.

In addition to understanding how herbs can work, we will look at some regional herbs that you can find locally in nature or grow in your yard. We will focus on five or fewer herbs in each of these classes, so that you can get some more in-depth understanding of them.

Each class will have a hands-on component, during which we will develop an herbal product you can try at home, and you will leave with recipes for your own health that use each of the herbs we discuss.

Note: Pre-registration and pre-payment are required for all classes. If any class does not fill, money will be refunded to anyone who has paid registration. If you do not attend a class for which you have registered, money is not refunded because instructor time and materials have been expended.
